The Mask

to disguise the most
looking for you
that makes me fear
you were never real
in my mind
this is past time
I am so close
to finally meeting
my ghost.

I'm glad you chose to write this in 31 words. There is a simplicity that then captures the imagination.
Well done I am enamored with your work

I especially loved this since I have a dissociative disorder that makes me feel as though I am not real and am a ghost. Loved the way you captured this so perfectly. Magnificent & horrifying - but beautiful, still!

Sometimes one learns to wonder what is real and what isn't!! I enjoyed pondering this poem.

You left me wanting more detail about that ghost! Way to stick to the word count.

This one gave me goosebumps!
It could be anyone behind the mask, couldn't it?
Could even be your own ghost!
Fabulous...:)
