Snow of White

As I take flight

in late night

to seek my White Knight

a glitter of light
in the darkness of white
a moment before twilight

your lips
blood red
not quite white
the coldness bites

wish as I might
our kiss
lasts forever

like last night.

drifting down

white like diamonds

2nd hand bookstore

In the midst of this holiday season, 

I went to one of my fave used bookstore & found a couple of poetry books!

Considering the Poetry section at most new book stores are pathetic, I was happy

to find these two......Vancouver Poetry & Mondo Barbie.   

I also found a vintage 1950's Polly French, Surprising Stranger 

& Pandora by Ann Rice,

For a bonus.... & maybe a little inspiration to finish my novel,

a book about a writers Retreat in Italy, 

Summer School.  

So whilst everyone has last minute shopping, I will

curl up with a book & be lost for a little while.

Tic Toc

A clock

the wind up kind

that woke me

with a shrill of bells

tic toc

since I was 7

gifted to me by my Nanny

that was pure heaven

A clock

that Mother gave away

when I left home to college

a sadness I kept at bay

A clock

that I spot

as I walk

into a vintage boutique

5000 miles away

in Paris

my childhood clock

that has returned

home

with me.

this glass apartment

high in the sky

with wrap around balcony

we walk hand in hand

your kiss

the summer scent of you

I most miss

as we talk

daylight breaks

your fading

screaming at me

to close my eyes

to wait for darkness

Late to the Ball

at WillowManor

for the ever so demure

a celebration of her birth

an eerie fog has blanketed

the south coast

causing the delay

of my jet on the runway

my ball gown

of pink & black

is carefully packed

ready to dance

but alas I

arrive so late

just in time

to dance with

the ghost of my date.

A hallway

dark like black

the click

of my heels

echoes

the emptiness

that your back.

Lucid

I woke up to skeletons

roaming around my bed.

That didn’t bother me

until I saw the one

standing still

in my ensuite,

looking back at me through

the mirror…..that is when

I felt fear.

Lately I have been torn

in a million directions

going no where at all

has left me somewhat scorned

no words to say

no time to play

no photos….no way

hours into days

that I have nothing to say

bike riding to my house
excited with your news
of baseball training camp

holding my hand

a brush of a kiss

across my cheek bone

whilst saying goodbye

just a summer apart

you say…..

not knowing

my childhood love

for you

would forever depart.

a design

for a new dress is made

carefully sewn

ready for

when I leave home.

I start my

little white car

acceleration

always a rush

the sun

I barely feel

as I drift

towards the sea

From a water of blueness

I feel the crystal white sand

the heat of the sun

the powerful waves

crashing down

enticing me

to the dark caves

where I might find

another soul

who calls

this paradise home.

exists an oasis

of fast automobiles

with shiny wheels

a private invite

if only you knew
